Guys, I know this is OBVIOUSLY in the wrong thread, but it's not related to Spyro, soooo...

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2120080/1/

That's a link to a Harry Potter fanfic called: In the Winter Darkness. I would suggest that you read it first before reading the review from it by some wise-guy named lmill123, because it has spoilers in it.

Quote:
This was a very sad short story. In the end Harry was dead. To me what comes through in the books, this is the way you would expect them to treat Harry even if he hadn't died. Because it comes across very loudly that all of Harry's friends only befirended him because of what he was instead of who he was. Even from the first book you can seen that Dumbledore had the Weasleys befriend Harry in order to spy on him. Think about it, the only person who had offered him friendship without knowing his name or seeing his scar was Draco. Harry is supose to be smart, yet I have always wonder why he didn't take Draco's hand on the train when he saw that Ron was only interested in being his friend after see the scar. As the sorting had had told him, he would find true friends and greatness in Slytherin. As you can see I am not a fan of Ron or Hermonie and I hate Dumbledore, because he is a user of people and he cares nothing for the well being of Harry. In fact, logic tells you that he had to have known how Harry was abused as a child.

I know other people have different opinons but this just leaves me ticked off and speachless.

What do you guys think?

What is even the point of reading the story, if you see the spoilers in the review - that defeats the purpose of reading fanfiction. In my reviews on fiction (even though I rarely read fiction these days) I tend to generalise it. =(

Well... for a start that is not in any way a review, it doesn't even comment on the story, which rather defines the point. State opinions in a review, by all means but people should actually say SOMETHING more about the story than this person did.

This person demonstrates a classic case of fictional distortion in order to make a point.

And didn't Draco know who Harry was at the beginning? And since when did he brfriend ANYONE for reasons other than personal gain regardless of who they were?

I don't see how anyone can hate Dumbledore as a person (though liking and disliking someone as a character can be a different thing altogether - Draco's a horrible person, for example, and I'd hate him in real life, but I find him an interetsing character and so like reading him.)

S/He obviously hasn't read the Halfblood Prince if he thinks Dumbledore is like that. I reckon he's a frightfully good liar but he put harry with the dursleys to protect him - here was a spell on the dursely's home, after all. Lesser of two evils, if anything.
