Seeing Spyro actually move makes him look much better, and my first worry about his voice is no longer as Elijah Wood (is it still Elijah Wood?) seems to be doing a fair job.

My complaint is what I've gathered about Spyro's past, I'm not sure I like him being a 'special' dragon. I've always been fond of the idea of the average joe becoming a hero, so the fact that Spyro is not just a dragon who was thrown into his circumstances might be hard for me to accept.

I'm not ultimately happy with it, but I wouldn't say I'm diappointed. Now I just await the important part, whether it is actually an enjoyable game. =P

I'm just wondering where is this trailer downloadable?

Krome Studios doesn't have it at their web site yet.

I agree with you 100 percent. I like the average joe become a hero idea not because of he or she is special but because they end up in a situation that makes them become a hero. The original Spyro always has come off seem more like a unlikely hero to me and that makes him more realistic in my book. Hopefully, I can expand on that with the 2008 movie.

Heroes... True heroes are usually not those who are born special but those who work to make something of themselves by going out of their way to help others in need of help or saving. They are usually those people who struggle and sacrafice so much too do the right thing because in their heart of hearts they are good people who just can't stand by and do nothing to help others out. They could be living a crappy life and have nothing but the clothes on their backs but that doesn't matter because they did something to help someone they never met or even knew. That is the definition of a true hero.

The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning just seems like a traditional tale of a special hero who has to save the world from an demented villian who is hellbent on unleashing chaos upon the world. It just sounds boring to me for some reason. Maybe I am being harsh but since I have played so many games and read so many novels about theses types of heroes I think I know what I am talking about.

This new game, despite the fact it has yet to be released, doesn't deepen Spyro or reveal anything shocking or important about him that makes me really set up and take notice. I really want to care about him but from desriptions I have read I just am not that happy with the story. I want to see him grow and develop as an individual. I liked seeing him struggle and strive to become the hero he is in the original games. That was believeable. Hell, it even said in the manual and game descriptions that he was a unlikely hero because of his size. The whole Spyro saga has been a David vs Goliath battle all the way up till now. He wasn't special but he became special because of his actions and his courage.

The new take on Spyro just seems 'cookie cutter heroish' to me. It is the same old special hero saves the day story. Even though this new game is 'A' origin story for the new Spyro (not the original) I still feel like it just seems hollow. VG have never been able to do Spyro justice. I really hope that they made the right decision with this game. I really do because I would hate to see this series end like this. This series has too much potential to end with a 'it could have been' or 'it should have been' statement. cry

i think the game looks like a cliche. I agree with jameique, he used to be just there by chance which made him so much braver. when its your destiny you have to do it you've got no choice in the matter. hero by chance is so much more interesting, how many times have we heard the destiny thing? the games format looks so different. thats not the spyro i know. i still dont get how they're going to fit this game in with insomniacs story lines, if they are going to at all...
but this deep secret thing... what is it some old dragon told him? you cant trust people with things like that. what i wanted when i finished a heros tail wasa new game after that with a new villian, and the reason i wanted a new villian was not because i was sick of all the old villians returning (although i feel that way too) but for him to find out something about his past like where he came from and the new villian could have something to do with this. Not him finding out what his destiny was, i dont believe in destiny. you choose how your life is going to go its not some script written out from birth. i wake up on saturday and i decide what i want to do. i might choose to go shopping or go swimming but thats my choice. i believe in coincidences though. here's a coincidence for you. A man was once on holidays in italy and as he was crossing the road he got knocked down by a taxi and died. A year later his brother was knocked down by a taxi in italy. but the strange thing is he was crossing the same road and it was the same taxi with the same driver and the same passenger. strange, huh? oh sorry, i've gone completely off topic. i'll stop now.

there is still a possibility for that to occur Ss. You want a fleshing out of Spyro, that may still happen..
