xx The Death Knell
« Thread started on: Aug 3rd, 2006, 3:36pm »

Each member took their position single-file. From left to right, Venom, Joel, Nikkola, and Frost. They readied themselves by a stern order from the commisar, a stony-faced echidna who was directing this mock-execution. Though he knew better. He bellowed another command into the air, the word seemed to hang with it the weight of despair. The subservient administrators raised their rifles. An odd silence passes, broken only by the rustling of a few leaves. The echidna looks the executee directly in the eyes with renewed resolve, even takes some kind of pleasure in it. Then orders the four under his leadership to fire. A sharp crack is heard resonating around the courtyard... But only Venom's musket was loaded.

15th Janurary 2006-3rd August 2006

The SFA took six and a half months to bleed to death.

It was dead on January 15th, don't try to artificially extend its life. SFA has been nothing but a thorn in my side for those six months. And you all should know it. My journals at dA haven't mentioned SFA at all. I didn't do an April Fool's like last year, and I've not even been here in earnest.

I do, however, say that on the forum's anniversary, whoever is in charge should lock everyone but administrators from posting.

Each and everyday from that day... January 15th... I didn't even check SFA. SFA was already dead. A walking zombie. And I say it's time to bury this zombie for good... nobody will ever suffer anymore, knowing this wretched place will not be here. IT'S TIME TO DIE, SFA. DON'T TRY TO STOP DESTINY FROM HAPPENING.

Beautifully written Lithe. Let's get it over with, then.

How quaint. Maybe the moderators would think everyone else took it as a joke. This is not true. I apologise Venom, you had othing to do with this but I wrote it before I had more information. You may stand with your conviction. I also agree with Venom in that respect that this meant alot to alot of people, Frost and I included. It seems sad that the SFA would end this way.

Sad yet fitting.

SFA was born from flames from Da Dark One, and so shall end.

Yet I'm still surprised. Even after January, when I told everyone what giant morons they were, and after the other SFAdmins did the same, only the regulars left.

The old SFAdmins were the life of SFA. And I'm sorry to all three of the new ones, I should have just gone with my instincts and deleted it back in January. I shouldn't have left anyone in charge to attempt to bring SFA back to its former glory; there's only so much you can repair. Holes in the fandom and holes in the games' continuity, all together, caused the true death of SFA.

You could even go as far as to say that my time as DDO was a test, a trial, to see if you truly were capable of sticking together. Did any of you PM the SFAdmins about the problem? Did you ignore the flames and just pretend like they didn't exist? No, you replied to them like the idiots you really are.

What happened last time there was a poster named "diane"? Oh, right, she posted insults. What should've been your first thought? CONTAIN THE SITUATION.

The last time there was a poster called "Da Dark One"? Hell, ANY TIME there's someone calling themselves Da Dark One, it's going to be some moron with no more than two braincells to rub together! What do you do to the posts? DELETE THEM! IGNORE THEM IF YOU CAN'T. Pretend like they aren't there.

But of course, it's obvious. You're all Spyro fans, brainwashed by Vivendi into thinking that their canon is the only canon. That Ember and Spyro are meant to be, despite SSL saying otherwise. That there were so far only three games, and that Spyro and Crash have always been in each other's universes!

I'm sorry to you all, but I remember it differently.

The end, SFA.

I think I deleted about half of all flames arriving here, yet was often too late to avoid any reactions... One isn't capable of being online all the time, and I guess that, with a number of people flaming, being mostly on my own, or so it apppeared, it was to be an inevitable failour.

I've been here since a few weeks after the site was founded, late august 2004 I think. Thinking about it, the SFA changed me into what I am today, established a large ammount of friendships and fresh views upon life itself... If it wasn't for the SFA's existence I wouldn't be writing this from California...

Ah well, things are as they have gone. I let my emotions play the better part of me yesterday, and though I still partly not want to see recent events, I guess in some way I don't have anyone to blame... No need to ask for any forgiveness Venom...

At least I had fun playing admin for a while...

And you were a good one. It's just too bad that you didn't get into the position last year instead of Geoff. Maybe then, SFA would have survived longer. Hell, it might've kept all of our interests and faith that Vivendi might not just screw up this next game.

And truly I blame all of us old SFAdmins, for giving up on it... But you know how it works: one person quits, everyone quits. In the days following Geoff's telling me that he didn't want to be one of us any longer, and even in the minutes following, I had all of the old SFAdmins telling me that they wanted to leave the position, essentially, Charles, I was in the same boat as you. I was the lone SFAdmin, keeping order, as the rest had been long since scared off. Hell, the last ten posts of my former vice-admin, TP as you all know her, were made last DECEMBER. She didn't even come to SFA anymore. She quit long before the rest of us. DSI as well, her last post before the whole January blowout was the day before TP's, as was Cocho's. KT barely EVER posted, DarkFaun ran away in March after causing the whole problem...

In fact, really, I sometimes suspect him of actually being the REAL DDO...

...Anyway. Panthergirl basically left after January, too, since she never really even had time for it anyway, hell, all I really had helping me protect the forum form problematic threads was Christine, and she visited what, every two weeks?

So really, SFA has actually been dying since before January. Methinks it was all because of DarkFaun, but it could just be my continued anger at him causing it.

...though I still want to know... Who the hell was posing as DDO besides me? There were some posts which didn't use proper capitalizations... And as DDO, I put heavy emphasis on that; you might be able to have called that a dead giveaway to who it really was posting, aside from the invisitext. That was why I put the post background as black, by the way... All thanks to Pokémon Zeo...
Anyway, I doubt anyone will read this and respond.

Oh, and a side note to everyone. My time as DDO only revealed my opinions of some SFAers in ways that I couldn't reveal as TTE only at SOME times. Not all the time. It was more of a boredom thing at those other times... like that lemon, jeez, I was trying to make it look as ridiculous as possible.

And as Diane, I was attempting to see how accepting you all would be of a ridiculous little girl and her Mary-Sue "stroys" about "sexx," which are... well, sadly, really are the majority of Spyro fanfics since Elora's been out of the picture.

Stupid Ember...

I'm a little confused, and I don't feel inclined to elaborate simply because I asked, but why all this hatred for DarkFaun? I mean, I know he left, but I always assumed it was a matter of circumstance.
Moderators leave, it happens. It's not his fault that everyone else decided to as well, is it?

Though, I'm only judging from what happened at this forum, I'm not sure if anything else happened behind the scenes. Hence my confusion.

Again, you don't have to answer if you wish to forget it all.

... because if he didn't quit, the original eight admins could've still been here. If he didn't quit, we wouldn't have to throw flames at this forum. If he didn't quit, we'd actually be having a good time right now, preparing for the next SFAnnniversary, and not discussing things about DarkFaun, and not throwing more flames at eachother. All-in-all, I'm mad because it was his fault... he ran away after causing mayhem and destruction... that's NO-GOOD.

Anyway, I don't know about you people, but after SFA dies, I won't have any good memories of it. The good days are too far away to remember any. I'll just have these-- the stinging, cold, bad memories of these past 6-7 months...
... I hope you weren't expecting something like, "and I'm happy"... because I'm not.
