Next month the newest Spyro game gets released, but a month after that the Nintendo "Wii" is released.

Do you think a Spyro game will be created for the "Wii?"

If anything, it'd be too advanced for the morons at Vivendi to handle. They'd never design Spyro for Wii because A: it's against their ideas about what's "TEH KEWLZ" B: the Wiimote's something foreign to them, and additionally, what would they do, make a Wii-only game? They don't want Nintendo to cut into THEIR profits. And they'd rather put it for $80 for a game on PS3 than actually have to keep the prices lowered at $50 to compete with Nintendo's first-party (and more superior) games.

If anything, I'd see Spyro being gone after the sixth generation of gaming, even if he made it on a seventh-gen handheld.

Which I find quite funny... How come Sonic, an originally fourth-gen character, and Mario, an originally third-gen character, are still around, while Spyro, a fith-gen character, has been sadly limping along? Maybe it's because Vivendi ruined it for us all, and it all started with the shoddy, rush-development of EtD.

Never. The wii is so unusual that Vivendi will be frightened by it and stick to the more "cool", "popular", and "conventional" PS3 and Xbox 360. And furthermore, spyro has a kiddie stigma and so do nintendo consoles. No need to double the stigma. For some reason, Xbox and PS3 are considered more mature. Until people learn how awesome the Wii is gonna be (I'm the only one who cares about it, or at least it seems that way), no one will buy one despite good games, cheepness, and the likelihood to catch on fast. But Vivendi isn't smart enough to pick that up, they are more concerned with popular trends, most likely.

Who knows? I'm not sure if Vivendi were behind the Season of Ice and Fire games, but since they were on Gameboy, and the newest game will be on GameCube as well as the other systems, I guess it's not impossible that the Wii will get a Spyro game. I doubt it'd be an exclusive game though, probably a game released on PS3, XBox 360 and the Wii, if at all.

Agreed with Dixie. Though, just Wii and PS3 are most likely due to similar controllers...

It is called...drumroll..."The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night"

And here's the offical word on the story.

The story begins with Spyro following Cynder through the jungle surrounding the Dragon Temple. Spyro catches up with her and asks her not to leave, revealing that he does hold some feelings for her. Cynder then leaves saying she doesn't want to hurt Spyro. Cynder runs off, leaving Sparx and Spyro alone. Soon after she is gone, the Temple is attacked by an army of apes. After Spyro repels the attack, Ignitus, the leader of the dragons and master of fire, sends Spyro to seek out a tree that Spyro saw in a vision (that in his dream, he gets his powers back, as he lost them at the end in The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning) while Ignitus looks for help against the Apes. As Spyro searches for the tree, he also searches for another dragon known as the Chronicler, who asked Spyro in a vision to find him. As he searches, Spyro is captured by pirates, and taken on board their ship.

After Spyro escapes the pirate ship, he discovers that the Apes have established a base on the Mountain of Malefor, also known as the Well Of Souls, in an effort to revive the Dark Master using a lunar alignment called the Night of Eternal Darkness. He also discovers that they are keeping Cynder prisoner hoping to turn her to their side.

Spyro eventually finds the Chronicler, who tells him about the Dark Master. According to him, the Dark Master was the first purple dragon; his raw power allowed him to master practically every elemental power. When his growth failed to stop, he was exiled and sealed away by the dragon elders, but not before he taught the Apes how to use dragon magic. The Chronicler wants Spyro to hide from the Apes until a later time, but Spyro insist on going to Cynder’s aid.

When he gets to the mountain, the Ape King, Gaul, orders Cynder to attack Spyro. When she attacks Gaul instead, he knocks her out and challenges Spyro himself. During the fight, the lunar alignment comes, and the evil energy it generates is channeled through Spyro. He uses his immense power to kill Gaul, and then leaps back into the beam of evil energy. Cynder awakens and knocks Spyro out of the beam, freeing him from the beam's power. When the alignment passes, the mountain begins to crumble around Spyro, Sparx and Cynder. Remembering the Chronicler's words about riding out the disaster, Spyro uses his powers to encase himself, Cynder and Sparx in crystal to protect them as the Well Of Souls collapses. The story continues in The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon.
