« Thread started on: Aug 17th, 2004, 11:10pm »

Hey, the board description does say "the future of Spyro"! tongue

Don't you think that Spyro, a gaming icon known by many, should get his own movie? I mean, his voice actor is Tom Kenny from the successful Spongebob series, so it wouldn't hurt.

But the question is, should it be animated or CGI? (Or even something weirder like Stopframe or Claymation)

If so, what plot could fit the space of less then 2 and half hours? Maybe one of our fanfics (Any of our stories + big screen = instant fame!), or maybe Ripto's Rage shortened down so it makes sense. (Ripto on the big screen + TurquoisePhoenix = a puddle of drool)

What do you think?

Yeah! I was actually thinking about that once. It should definitly be CGI, it's much cooler. As for a plot, well, I don't know...

Sure, a movie would be great! And we all know that Dreamworks, the creators of Shrek, are also in league with Universal. And they know how to animate their fire-breathing dragons.

Of course, many of our fanfics could become some sort of movie. But no matter how much I want to give a chance to everyone else, out of any Spyro fanfic I'd have to say that your Realms of Chaos would definitely be the one to go on the big screen, TP. All of the rest of us probably could get at least a TV movie, or even a show. Heck, we could do the previews for the real movie as teasers of Spyro's world!

It had better not be live action though, Super Mario Bros. wasn't that good of a movie, I hear.

Hear, hear. Super Mario Bros. spewed monkey chunks. (Even Nintendo Power hates that movie, and well, they're official!)

Dreamworks better make a Spyro or Crash movie within my lifetime. Then I can die happy. grin

I would love to see what story they could come up with...

Yeah, if A.C.I.D. Reign ever became a movie, it would probably be a B-movie. Gawd, my writing stinks. But thanks for your support guys! *hugs*

I actually thought about them making a Spyro the Dragon movie once. One of the Playstation games in the series shortened down a bit would be pretty neat.

Now you know how I feel! I'm just glad I'm not the only one here who likes Ripto. I feel so loved. grin grin grin

It has to have a good soundtrack....YEAH! A lot of Coheed and Cambria songs remind me of Spyro. The very end of "The Crowing" reminds me of Ripto; if he tried could sing like Claudio Sanchez. A screechy, hyperactive riptoc on stage with a guitar...hm....How much coffee did he drink today? ("SINCERELY, I WILL KILL YOU ALL!! I will call you out from shelter, burn your wings and you'll know no better!")

Personaly I think it should be real life charators with a very realilistic robot as spyro! But if it should be computer animation it has to be dreamworks!!!!!!!!!!!!
They know how to do that stuff the best!

IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY
Ppl, if there is no new news at the website i posted about spyro movie by 2006, then we all gang up, and ask, tell, plead, to universal or dreamworks! if there is enough ppl they might make it! We really need to get alot of ppl to like spyro and tell em about this website! cheesy

*Crash Bandicoot
*Neopets
*Spyro
*Zelda

grin When I die, I'm going to have a broad smile on my face. My dreams are finally coming true!

I'm trying to convince a flash artist friend to make a bogus trailer of my The Realms of Chaos story. (With me providing the voices of my characters. Spyro and Ripto will just remain silent.)

Animatronics? Nah. I saw Country Bears, and I'd much rather for the purple dragon to be animated on paper. (Traditional animation would just has a better bang to me, seeing as Disney quit on their movies.)

I'll tell some of my friends at the Universal Spyro board...

When you said that they were making a Spyro movie, I almost crapped myself. Who wants to go stake-out at my local movie theater as a screaming fangirl for Ripto?
I do I do I do-oooooo! I don't care if I'll be in high school and still want to see it. Most likely I'll still be obsessed with Ripto; it's better to like people you know don't exist then to like people that don't know you exist. That's my philosophy.

The movie should be computer animated. After all, it is about game characters, and we see them in the little mini-movies during the game. It only makes sense to me.
