Article I

Mission

This forum exists as a place for the discussion of the videogame character Spyro the Dragon, the games in which he appears and other associated things of a Spyronic nature. It is also a gathering place for Spyro fans and a base structure for the Spyro fan community.
________________________________________

Article II

Ethos

This is a happy forum! However corny that might sound, the rules and associated sanctions described below are simply designed to keep this spirit of fun alive. We hope that you will be enthused by the community and want to help out yourself to make this a positive place. Note that free speech is honoured here, but that, to use a rather effective analogy, someone's right to swing their arm ENDS when their fist hits another's nose.

Article III

Rules

Rules are (sadly) needed everywhere, and as the events of Jan ’06 show, this forum is no exception! These rules are very important and must be adhered to at all times in every area of the website. They ensure smooth running and safety for all our users. Breaching these rules is considered very serious, so the action taken by the Forum Staff is likely to be severe (a warning and/or immediate ban)! You have been warned!
1. Let common sense, honesty, integrity and good nature prevail here - if you do not have a conscience you have no place here!
2. Do not post any illegal material, or anything with the potential to seem illegal or link to anything illegal under International, United Kingdom or United States law.
3. No flaming or harassment is permitted, be that racist, xenophobic, sexist, or in any other form. There is a zero-tolerance policy on this.
4. Adult content is strictly prohibited. This is a forum for essentially a child’s videogame character, so it is composed almost entirely of underage users. If members truly MUST discuss such things, they can do so off the forum.
5. Use of the forum is entirely at the user's risk. No responsibility can be taken by the forum staff for the contents of the forum at any one time, although every effort is made to ensure all rules and guidelines are adhered to at all times.
6. By entering the forum you accept and agree to adhere to all the rules and guidelines (which follow) of the forum, and to read and abide by any notices or instructions given by the forum staff.

Article IV

Guidelines

These are important as they ensure the smooth running of the forum and the conventions we as a community have adopted over the years. Adhering to these is strongly advised, and the forum staff are 6 is to abide by them.
1. A simple one to start: If you do not have anything nice to say, do not say anything at all!
2. Please keep posts relevant to the forum they are in. If you cannot find a place for your post, notify the forum staff, who will advise you on the best one. You may find your post moved if you put it in the wrong place!
3. Remember that the Forum Staff are not responsible for the words or actions of anyone other than themselves and always do the best job they can. The Forum Staff can expect to be allowed to do their job without undue hassle or mistreatment. This includes asking questions that the answers to which are contained in this document or elsewhere on the forum and making complaints after being kindly advised on how to act and/or behave.
4. Keep swearing to a minimum. Remember – there are young kids on this forum! If you wish to discuss a delicate topic, do so like mature adults!
5. Debates are quite acceptable, but any which result in petty name calling and any sort of childish bickering will immediately be locked, or the ridiculous portion of the argument separated into its own thread and then deleted.
6. While we encourage healthy discussions, please do not post where a post isn’t warranted, to boost your post count or otherwise. This will be treated as spamming. A good rule of thumb is to make a maximum of 12 posts per day.
7. Anyone who wishes to start a new game in Funland must send the topic idea to be approved by one of the Forum Staff first. And if they approve, then, and only then, can they post the topic. Also, a game that has run for over six or so pages with only several people playing should be stopped.
8. No double posting, unless you run out of space in your posts (which is unlikely) or you start another chapter of your fiction. If you needed to say something else, use the MODIFY button.
9. Excepting the General Discussion Board and the Non-Spyro centre, try as hard as humanly possible to keep the topic focus on SPYRO and related subjects.
10. The Forum Staff have a role of responsibility. If a member of Forum Staff is abusing his or her powers, please notify one of the Master Admins (Administrators)
11. Please do not make posts that, through pictures or strings of text, stretch the width of the board.
12. If someone flames the forum, DO NOT COUNTERFLAME. Wait for one of the Forum Staff to delete the post.
13. No-one should fight over pairings by insulting, or putting down some else. Same goes with which games are the best, which characters are cooler, etc
14. Any suggestions or ideas to improve the forum should be sent to the Forum Staff. The input of the users is valued greatly as the Forum Staff desire to provide the best forum possible for the users.
15. If there is something you are unsure about, the Forum Staff are happy to help, but ensure you have read the Constitution in its entirety first.

Article VII

Forum Staff

Section A

The Administrators (SFMasterAdmins) and Global Moderators (SFAdmins) of the forum are collectively known as “Forum Staff” or “The Administrative Body”, and are generally the most senior members of the community. Be NICE to all the staff for they are generous, hard working people. There shall be only FIVE Forum Staff members - 2 SFMasterAdmins and 3 regular SFAdmins. SFAssistants may be appointed by the 2 SFMasterAdmins to keep some of the more populous boards under control. Membership is by invitation then election ONLY.
The SFAdmins (Global Moderators) take care of the following:
1. Checking posts on the forum and their adherence to the rules and guidelines of the forum and taking appropriate action in the case of posts being found to be in breach of one or more of the rules and/or guidelines.
2. Acting as a decision making body for the forum.
3. Liaising with internet support agencies on matters regarding the forum.
4. Deciding on the appointment of SFAssisstants (Moderators).
5. Providing basic support to the users of the forum on all matters, either technical or regarding usage.
The SFMasterAdmins (Administrators), as well as the moderator jobs, deal with:
1. Taking appropriate action in the case of users being found to be repeatedly or seriously in breach of one or more of the rules.
2. Acting as a senior decision making body for the forum.
3. Managing the structure, appearance, users and groups of the forum.
4. Deciding on new Administrator or Global Moderator candidates.
5. Providing advanced support to the users of the forum on all matters, either technical or regarding usage.

Section B

Elections for the regular “SFAdmins” (GMods) may have up to 4 candidates, who are elected by a civil majority of the willing voters, and by at least a 2/3s agreement by the existing Forum Staff (3 out of 5) (this agreement should occur BEFORE candidate names are released.)
SFMasterAdmin elections must have 2 candidates. Both candidates must first be sanctioned by the ENTIRE administrative body before running, and must obtain a 2/3s public majority to be elected.
All elections will run over 2 weeks - one week for campaigning (and ensuring maximum # of voters) and one week of actual voting.
During the election process, the out-going Admin/MasterAdmin must remain at his duties unless death or severe illness prevents him.

Section C

Draconic Heroes
“Draconic Hero” is a title given to a member who has made a major contribution towards the forum. Posting lots absolutely does NOT count, but instead the actions you take on the forum - things such as helping the board out as a member (saving it from major problems) and the like.
The title or “Draconic Hero”, however, does not carry any administrative or moderating power; it simply recognises the member as an asset to the forum.
________________________________________

Article VIII

Amending

Amendments to this Constitution can be proposed by anyone. The proposal must then be seconded at LEAST two of the Forum Staff, of whom one must be an SFMasterAdmin (Administrator) before passing to a public vote. An agreement by 2/3s of voting members is necessary for the acceptance of an amendment. The exception to this is an amendment to Article V, which may be passed at any time by a single SFMasterAdmin (Administrator). The contents of Article V, however, automatically carry less weight than the rest of the constitution
