All right, among the admins only, who agrees that it's become much too hard? And among the other members, who thinks it's ever easy?

Believe me, there's a reason I don't post often here. There's an even bigger reason I don't in Funland.

I know already that Darkeiya and Dark Faun agree with me. Not just the fact that the board's less about Spyro and more about forum games, but that we're all losing our fandom in the Spyro series.

And even when the topic is within the series, it always goes right back to VU vs Insomniac. And I'm really sick of it. By now, actually, I've played the Insomniac games so many times that it's not fun anymore, and in my opinion, VU's games were never fun to begin with. EtD: "Yay, low framerate!" AHT: "Yay, a million breaths!" SSL: "Woo, new magic powers! And Red's back and he's GOOOOOD!"

I dunno if it's just that we need a break or what. What I do know is that as soon as we'd come back, it'd be hell here, literally. Someone would probably come and spam the place out, there'd be a flame war in one topic and DDO-24/7-discussion on another. We'd never be able to make up for any absence, no matter if it was a week or a month.

And if anyone's checked the recent posts of the SFAdmins, you'd notice that many haven't even posted for a month or more. Mostly, SFA's become a free for all, with just the extreme posts that one of us notices becoming deleted or edited.

And if you ever talked to the admins in a chatroom or anything on AIM, you'd notice that we're always ending up arguing. It's impossible to stop it. Just like it's impossible for us to not lose hope in the fandom as it's been. How many people argued about how Spyro was during the original trilogy? Very few. How about now?

So you see, this is my reasoning. What the SFAdmins need is YOUR HELP. Seriously. If you see an objectionable post, go tell one of us about it. It doesn't matter who, hell, even tell us all! We're here to moderate the board, but as you know, we're among the oldest people here. With the responsibilities of school, as well as how all of the SFAdmins also have deviantART accounts and AIM, and even their own responsibilities at home, we don't have the time to check every topic on every board.

And also: Darkeiya and Dark Faun, if you two are willing to give this another chance, you're quite welcome to. But I will only if anyone else is willing to help me with these responsibilities.

Anyway, no, I'm not gone yet. But I certainly will be soon... either if I come back or don't. Because if I do return, I'm not being your Master Admin beyond the 13th of August. At the second SFAnniversary, I'm leaving my post because the stresses of college life will be much greater than those of high school.

And to conclude this: No more chatspeak on SFA. At all. Okay? I'm sick of having to read "u" instead of "you" anywhere. It's TWO KEYSTROKES. No need to shorten everything if you're a literate human being. Especially in a forum, where a post's not INSTANTANEOUS and doesn't need to be delivered to the person you're talking to before they get offline.

So, please, your thoughts on the matter. Do we need SPECIFIC RULES? Do we need some sort of SFA Constitution? What? Please, anyone, throw me a bone. I can't run this whole forum of 200+ registered members alone, even if around 66% of them are dead accounts.

Even if we only have elections around special member counts doesn't mean that you just have to help to suck up to me when we near those counts. You should help all the time, because I just might make the next election at some random number, like 238 members, and not announce it before talking to the candidates.

So, really, people... I need your help as much as you need mine. I won't rub it in your faces that without me, you wouldn't have SFA or even know half the members you do, but I will tell you that without you, ther won't BE an SFA to come to.

*sigh* So ends my long-winded post. If you didn't read it, don't reply. I know many of you might not care about the future of Spyro Fans Anonymous or the Spyro games, but I hope that at least some of you do as much as I do.

There isn't really much point in being an SFAdmin if you can't visit the site every day. Even though I probably could, I mostly don't want to due to a few reasons. For one, I too have grown bored with the Spyro fandom. It just... I don't know, doesn't have the same appeal any more. For another, I rarely posted anyway, and when I did, it was usually to reprimand people or edit their posts.

Most people wouldn't mind correcting others when they step out of line. However, you will start to mind when you have to correct them over and over. It'll rack on your nerves when it's the exact same person time and again.

I know the majority of people here are, for the most part, friendly. Most people take it kindly when they are corrected for stepping out of line, or when they overpost. But when you're an Admin and you tell someone politely not to overpost, only to recieve a reply of "That's such a lame and old excuse" and have your warning not be heeded, it makes you feel like people don't respect you.

Ohoho, and don't get me started on the PMs. I've recieved everything from chain letters to content of which will not be revealed here.

Oh yes, it's marvelous when members don't heed your warnings and call your judgement calls "pathetic excuses"! It's stupendous when folks you don't even know send you PMs that tell you that you don't deserve to live! It's great fun to be an Admin at a forum where everyone is either overposting on the Funland threads or arguing amongst themselves over whether the Insomniac games or the VU games are better EVERY SINGLE Censored DAY OF THE WEEK!! OH YES! FUN, FUN, FUN!!

Heaven forbid any of you guys here, ANY OF YOU AT ALL, can get a freaking life! Spyro's just a video game for kids, and yet we have people as old as 30 here arguing over shippings and gameplay and whatnot, complaining to other members because they aren't allowed to use chatspeak (which, I might add, is a bastardization of the English language) and insulting other members because they believe VU is better or Insomniac was better or whatever! I've seen 10 year olds act more mature than you lot! GROW UP! QUIT ACTING SO IMMATURE AND GROW UP!!

...

So obviously, I have no intentions of returning to Adminship. I am sick of dealing with the endless chaos that has become Spyro Fans Anonymous. The Spyro Fan in me has died. The arguments here have stressed me to the point where I lose sleep at night for hours at a time. The behavior of many people, from acting like martyrs to having a "I'm-right-and-you're-wrong" complex, has digusted me as of late. I have an outside life too, and I can't constantly watch over this place and the people who hang out here. I've tried, but if people obviously don't want me to chastise them, then I give up.

I must look like such a beotch yelling at all of you guys like that. Ah well. If I offended you, that's your problem now. Farewell.

So......this is it huh? THIS will be the death of SFA? The only one, in my view, holding this thing together, is TP, and if TP quits.....well, then we can say bye-bye to SFA. It seems all the admins are retiring. This doesn't sound fair to the Admins, what they have to go through. But I can't stand the fact that my favorite MB, and my only link to society without being considered a loser, is crumbling beneath it's own feet. It's nobodies fault but those who give up their hope for this Spyro Fandom. I would swear and flame, but I would rather not get banned, I would like to see whether TP can handle, or if you the other admins can gain hope. One admin quits, the entire foundation of a website crumbles. It started with TTE, and now, that will kill SFA. Thanks a LOT. Now they will say the initials: TTE in the same scorn they have with DDO's.

Oh, really, now? Hm. Well, I hope you'll know that it was a Mr. Dark Faun who wanted to retire first.

Of course, I'll accept this one last criticism of my policies. SFA is mine now. Nobody else is here to stand in my way. I can finally do what I want to.

And what I'll start with is by saying that everything Darkeiya said was completely true. None of you listen to me, her, or anyone else. We got sick of it, and we're NOT gonna come back.

Now, a quick semi-rant of my own.

Wow, DoF, what a great bloody attitude. No, really, at this important time, let's all just drop everything and BUGGER OFF!

Sorry, that was rather harsh of me, but SERIOUSLY, mate...

Ouch, Dark, that stings.

You know, when I found this board, I'd never been a member of a forum before. I know this sounds wanky, but it was a truly great feeling being a part of the SFA community. The SFA, as much as anything, became something of a refuge for me.
So, sorry, but I don't want to "get a life", because I'm really enjoying the one right now and still feel that, with a bit of work, we can save it...

----------------

Okay, to business.

I'm interested to see what the "core" members have to say on this issue. ("Core member" refering to those who seriously care about the future survival of the SFA - the SFAdmins, current and ex, and several others probably fall under this name. NOT the OMGliktehsirpostalot or l33t h4x0r people.)

As for my own thoughts...

Quote:
So, please, your thoughts on the matter. Do we need SPECIFIC RULES? Do we need some sort of SFA Constitution?

Yes. Excellent idea. A constitution is a universal fallback. If ever someone steps too far out of line, we can refer to the constitution, to which all members would be bound. And in that way, SFAdmins can't be accused for being too "grouchy" or too "tough" (Not that they ever actually ARE...) I'll give some suggestions for constitutional rules later, just give me some time to think of them. Hmm... you should start a thread, (I would, but it would look much better in your name), where all interested can out forward ideas for a constitution, then vote on them to initiate them.

Quote:
And also: Darkeiya and Dark Faun, if you two are willing to give this another chance, you're quite welcome to. But I will only if anyone else is willing to help me with these responsibilities.

Jeez, man, I know I'm occasionally aggressive, opinionated and/or immature. But if ever there's anything I can do for you, just ask. OK? Surely you already knew that!

Quote:
200+ registered members alone, even if around 66% of them are dead accounts.

Perhaps, then, you should mass-email all members, asking them:
A) If they wish to put forward their ideas for the constitution or whaterver
B) Whether they still wish to maintain membership.

Any one who answers No to the second question, or doesn't reply within a week or so (and is not a regular member) is pruned from the site.

Just a suggestion.

Quote:

Well if you won't, then I will.

People, we must rally ourselves - a major overhaul of SFA policy is in order. I do not know about the feasability of such action, but if at all possible, I feel all other boards should be LOCKED until this matter is properly resolved.

Come on, people, give something back to the forum that has given so much to us all. And if you can't be bothered to help, then maybe you should consider going someplace else, at least until we've got this settled.

~V~

**********NEW POST***********

Oookay. I just took a look at the staff list.

Since WHEN, exactly, did we decide a governmental dissolution was a good idea?

A note to ALL ex-SFAdmins - I urge you to reconsider. Dissolve the SFA govermental body, and you break the snake's back, so to speak.

A transition of government, if it happens at all, should happen slowly, carefuly, or in a single large election, during which the out-going members remain in their seats!
This is madness.
Please, guys, come to your senses! I realise you must all be weary of Modmanship, but that is not an excuse to suddenly give up the ghost!

As I tried to imply previously...

This is NOT a time for brash moves or quick thinking. DO NOT PLUNGE INTO THIS HEADLONG! It is a time for analyzing and correction - a time of OPPUTUNITY, NOT PANIC!

As I said previously - let us temporarily close the other boards until this matter is resolved. THINK, people, THINK; think and give suggestions, for Pete's sake...

BE CALM!

Okay, okay, okay. HOW, precisely, did it happen?

I just told TTE I didn't want to be a SFAdmin anymore because I didn't post on the board enough, and other various reasons, okay.

But I never agreed on abandoning SFA like that. I planned to STAY after being de-admined. I never planned that the day after this issue, there would be no more moderator at all.

Even though I disagreed with Venom more than once, I must agree with him now. You're sick of being an admin? Then run elections for new blood before leaving, sheesh.

Nope, people. No big rant about how the new fans or whatever are nothing but complete morons. Because, quite frankly, no matter what I kept saying in IMs or whatever, Spyro Fans Anonymous *has* smart members too.

WTF i swear you just wanted to leave o_O; (Uck i hate memebers like you =_=)

But, Dark has a good point ya know ^^' She is correct; it's sad to agrure pover the smallest things...I haven't really been rambling on much myself about shippings and crap...I admit, sometimes i do play in fun land but have lost interesst...Gah you guys spam it up a hell of a lot...And it has no conection between Spyro anymore. I've also lot intersst in him too. I think it's becasue of some memebers here and certain agurments...have well twsited my feelings. Sad to say myself i regurally check this site. But i don't post. I ignore funland now...As it's way to cultured and stuff. But the other topics usually go waay off. Pfft, i give up. But i wouldn't go and delted the site or...Whatever your gunna go, people gave up there time to post [Blame Dark Faun for that >.<]... Well now I've sorta changed my mind on certain things ^^; Anyhow....Um...

I dunno what to say now >.< I forgot -_-u Have a nice day suckers.
