You don't say.

I'm just waiting for them to retcon the original trilogy out.

Maybe Red too, if we're lucky...

There's a... new? Old? (STOP MESSING WITH MY TEMPORAL SENSE, VIVENDI!) villainess, a dragon named Cinder.

First of all: LAME NAME.
Second of all: Quit trying to displace TWO Spyro villains and then, additionally, have new villains come around AFTER SSL!
Third of all: Spyro is OVER. THE END. Now where's the Censored applause?! Oh, wait, the fans left before it was over because the ending SUCKED. Yes, that's right, S-U-C-K, SUCK.

"There are four elements with three attacks in each, for a total of 12 different attacks. These attacks can be leveled up by spending gems that you collect in each level."

And if Moneybags appears ONE BIT... I'll--

"In addition to the breath and melee attacks, Spyro can use special fury moves. These are super moves that inflict massive damage over a wide area."

Spyro is not a stick of dynamite. Spyro is a DRAGON. He's not the "chosen one" or anything. He was in the right place at the right time. That's IT. He wasn't DESTINED to be the only unfrozen dragon. He wasn't DESTINED to travel to Avalar and face Ripto. He wasn't DESTINED to beat Sor. He wasn't DESTINED to do ANY OF IT.

Additionally, there are little to no platforming parts. Gee, Spyro's supposed to be a PLATFORMER, right? RIGHT?

So, yes. Thank you, Vivendi. Thank you for ruining Spyro more than I could ever imagine you could do.

I think I'll take the task of being the first to say "Goodbye, Spyro the Dragon."

So, that's it. Goodbye, Spyro. It was a good two years, and then six years of crap. But those first two years were the best years for the PS family of consoles as far as platformers go.

And anyone who thinks I'm too harsh, go play the first three games again. Play Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon. What breaths do you see? What gameplay do you see? What Spyro do you see?

I hope you see the better one.

Thank you all. Goodnight.

Okay TTE I do think your being harsh and for your information I do play the old games all the time. I know there's a huge and massively dissapointing difference between the quality of the games, but I believe that VU is trying their best. And if their not then thats sad and there is nothing we can really do. I can understand why your angry but Come On! The first Spyro games were top of the line! The best of their class! It would take the exact same team to bring back the nostalgia you get from those first games.
So go ahead be angry. But try to be more considerate of the few fans Spyro has left.

There's nothing we can do to stop it. We should just not make a big deal of it. No matter what VU does I will remain a Spyro Fan. I don't care if people think I'm immature because I am immature. I can be mature in serious situations and unless you have your room theme as Spyro and have a lot of Spyro things all over your house than people shouldn't make a big deal of VU.

If anything, blame Insomniac for selling Spyro.

Spyro looks really....really strange in that picture. Oh God don't tell me thats his new look.

And yes I always blamed Insomniac for selling Spyro. Probably not the best people to blame. But its somebody's fault.

And if its not a Platformer then what the heck is it gonna be?!

Yeah his mouth looks really crooked. Like a croc mouth. Maybe Elora stomped on it so it got jagged. And what happened to his eyebrows? Are they even still on his face?

I can't understand why VU would change his look for the worst and not for the better. I mean for Pete's sake they could have at least made Spyro bigger.

EDIT: Oops. Sorry. Accidental Double Post.

I guess Spyro didn't alwasy look as cute whilst a pup... Having gotten used to this appearance though, it cannot really bother me any longer... It remains Spyro and that's all I'm concerned about... As long as they don't erase Spyro from his own games I'll keep playing them, simply accepting the changes for what they are, and attempt to enjoy the games, since they weren't really all that bad.

One cannot keep lingering on the same games constantly, some changes are needed every now and then... Perhaps the changes made now are somewhat too large, but so be it... I won''t make a stance towards this game before I''ve actually gotten to play at least a demo of it...

Aye, indeed they are. Infact, they're taking it TOO seriously.
It's the silly little things - funny death animations of apparently fearsome enemies to name just one, that put the spark into the old games.

And that's gone now. No use complaining.

No use buying the game, either.

((Currently at school.))
Well...The Graphics look far better than A Hero's Tail, which is good, however, I just hate that the fact that Spyro has gotten a new design, sort of.

I think his face is a little similar, except the Spikes on his head to his tail has changed greaty. I won't mind really, but most artists are going to have a hard time adapting to draw the new Spyro if they want to, or not.

I very much agree with you. I just heard about this game a few hours ago (it's how I ended up here) and I don't like how it sounds like they're handling it. No platforming? Overly epic plot? And to top it off, Spyro is ugly??

He does look VERY different... I like how he seems more like a dragon and less cute to appeal to kiddie audiences, but I don't like how it seems they've changed him for no reason. Those game shots don't look like 'young Spyro', his build seems exactly the same.

I'll buy any Spyro console game and I'll buy this one... I'm just not getting my hopes up.

(To be fair, Spyro's origins being with a dragonfly family sounds just like the original premise where Sparx bonded with Spyro while he was in his egg.)

But TTE if it makes you feel better my mom feels the same way you do.

I guess I'm just heavily for "If it ain't broken, don't fix it" But thats just my opinion on Spyro's looks.

Although the gameplay style of Spyro the Dragon is pretty much archaic by today's standards....it still works! All it needs is polish. Spyro dosen't need to grow up. He can stay the way he is so that newer generations can love Spyro as much as we do. I mean sorry but I feel bad to watch 5 through 10 year olds play Grand Theft Auto.

Spyro looks anorexic!!! In the other games its been sort of light-hearted, especially the insomniac games but in ANB he looks all serious and i dont have to say anything about the breaths and powers, ye all said that for me. This might be the third stake in the heart. For me this is VU's last chance. They'd better not dissapoint me.
