...Meh, what the hey. Might as well put out what's coming up for this new game:

User Image

The story begins with a cutscene in which Ratchet and Clank find out that several heroes have disappeared recently and that Captain Starshield is dead. Apparently, he was killed while competing in an underground combat tournament known as Dreadzone. Dreadzone is operated by Gleeman Vox, who runs an underground media empire in the Shadow Sector, a lawless region of space at the edge of the universe. It might not sound like a nice place to visit, but you aren't given a choice.

Your ship is taken over by a group of robot thugs and you're taken into custody by order of Vox himself. Because Ratchet is a hero in his own right, Vox wants him to compete in Dreadzone to boost broadcast ratings and sell merchandise. Ratchet and Clank are captured and fitted with deadlock collars, which are programmed to administer a powerful shock when the wearer ventures into any restricted area. The collar can also be detonated if the contestant "becomes uncooperative, or worse, boring." So although Ratchet doesn't really want to compete, he doesn't have much choice.

From what I've read, Insomniac has made Ratchet slightly more serious than in the other games, like with Jak from Jak&Daxter. First Jak is a basic kind hero, THEN he turns into a bad-ass...buuuut, in Ratchet's case, its only a little.

User Image
...Eh-heh, well, at least Ratchet isn't getting dark eco transfered into his vains. ^_^; The game will still have a few laughs; not killing the canon or anything. Insomniac isn't known for that. =D And from all the screen shots I've scene, the graphics looks sharper. The game play is as the same as the other three...

Sad thing though, you mostly play as Ratchet, thus comes the name...Unless there's a small time where you're Clank.

User Image

In conclusion, this should be a promising game to come: coming out on 10/25/05

Heh, no guesses what's high on my wishlist, too.

And, yeah, Deadlocked certainly sounds better. But why do they occasionally do this differently-named sequels thing at all?

I guess...really I have no clue. Maybe it's the reason why some countries get things (i.e. CDs, videogames) early than others. Because they can. tongue

I don't really play R&C, but this sounds cool. ^^

Aus, Europe and NZ (New Zealand), are the usual candidates for name corruption.

Cursed name corruption - it makes eveything so dang confusing!

How can you say that? Seriously, though, what you said is praticly everything about it! And what about it 'killing'? It doesn't make sense!
