Actually, I believe that DreamWorks is owned by Universal Studios, so that'd basically be the only way we could go. (unless, of course, SFA buys Spyro from them)

Buying Spyro is potentially a good idea, provided that we're willing to wait about 30 years to do so. Obviously, to Universal Spyro is still an asset - simply having the name of one of the PS1's unofficial mascots is reason enough to keep him - for a while, at least.

While I cannot justify why, I cannot imagine Universal bothering to continue creating Spyro games beyond another 2 PS generations (that is, I doubt he'll appear on PS5, or maybe even PS4.)

However, as long as they are returning a profit, be it on any platform, they're bound to put an unimaginable, mind-bogglingly huge pricetag on Spyro.

But maybe, just maybe, a long term goal of the SFA could be to, even if it doesn't happen for another 50 years, buy the rights to Spyro...

A Spyro movie would be EXCELLENT and if it happened Id be jumping on sofas for joy. The plot would be tricky and Id prefer it to be 3D animated, but it would be great

I heard YEARS ago that Crash bandicoot was supposed to be getting a TV series, but apparently this never came to fruition. All the same its very possible for Spyro. A lot of the plots going around the fanfiction section would make just great movies.

I've been hoping for a Spyro movie for years, and it seems that my wish has been granted.

I think that a few present Spyro fanfiction would be great to make into a movie, like The Realms of Chaos or The Dark Fairy Reign. I also think that The Angry Mob would be a good TV series, and that Some State Park in Texas would be a good episode.

To tell the truth, if a Spyro movie came out tomorrow, I wouldn't see it.

For everything they may think they can do, there's a 95% chance that the storyline would be a royal heap of you-know-what aimed at children of 4-7 years of age.

Actually guys, a movie AND series are coming soon. The series is currently being developed along with a movie. The plot details are rather sketchy at the moment. I'd have to say that it is possible that Spyro will be 3d animated for both the series and movie. Now there is talk that the 2d animation might be used and that is one BIG might. The storylines will continue forward from the current game storylines. Spyro is finally going to get some actual character development. Thank god! Original fan favorites will be returning and there will be some new characters introduced. I believe VU is aiming for either a Spring or Summer 2007 date for the movie.

As for Spyro the series? Late 2007 or Early 2008 is a very good estimate.

Ruby Krystal and Venom, the answer to your questions is simply: I am working on the storyline outline. I am also redesigning the original model drawings of Spyro and the original characters slightly. They won't be changed drasticaly. Insomiac doesn't want that to happen. The character development and changes will give Spyro the edge he needs to reboot the ailing franchise. In othe words, this movie and series will not only redefine the entire world of Spyro the Dragon and bring back the fun, witty humor and adventure that made it what it was in the beginning but it will take Spyro and his friends to the next level. Spyro has been a kid long enough and it is time to move his life own to more mature things and subjects. As for where the movie and series will start from. Let's just say that it won't be Shadow Legacy. A Hero's Tale will most likely be where the movie and series continue from. That is why I have been asking and telling you guys to go read my fanfiction-for-now-at-least series, Spyro: Dragon of Destiny. This series IS the working storyline outline that is being developed further for the upcoming film and series. The movie itself will happen before the Spyro: Dragon of Destiny series begins and roughly a year or so after A Hero's Tale. As most of you know, Spyro met Bash Bandicoot in the portable Gameboy Advance games. The portable games, from what I have learned, take place in slightly parallel Spyro universe but they still apply to the main universe some how. HOW? Now that is the question and think VU owes me some explainations. Anyway, I am getting off topic...

Red will be back as some of the unused unlockable concept game artwork that was seen after you beat A Hero's Tale. Also, as some of you have already played Shadow Legacy, you know what I am talking about already. Don't worry, Red's core character will be fleshed out further but he will not become a good guy. The movie will also feature some quite shocking plot twists and revelations that when they come to light will flip Spyro'swhole world upside down. Elora and Bianca also return. Ember and Flame will be there as well but they will not be the potrayed in the same way as they were in A Hero's Tale. The new versions of Flame and Ember will be fully developed characters with backstories that make sense in the context of the original Insomica Spyro storyline which will be modified slightly to reflect the addition of these new characters. Other then that the original storyline will more or less stay in one piece.

As for the Dragon of Destiny series... it takes place three years after A Hero's Tale and will take the place of the actual Shadow Legacy. The premise of Dragon of Destiny is that Spyro has begun to wonder what the future holds for him and that he has reached an age when he starts to ask very difficult questions about himself and the world around him. The series is basically one huge adventure of self discovery and growing up. Spyro, with Hunter and his friends by his side, will face new challenges and come to realized that everything that they have faced together in the past was nothing compared to what they will face in the future. So Spyro and his friends will embark on a journey to fulfill the unknown destinies that await all of them...

So your story is going to be the the series?

The answer is yes. I am working on the actual story outline that is set to be used for the Spyro movie. As for the series, the draft I currently am writing is one version of two that is being prepared for series development.

The answer is that I am writer that happens to be a big fan of Spyro. I was and still am working on my own animation project for my own studios. While I have continued to work on my own projects I have been developing this storyline in secret in my spare time for nearly two years.

The Spyro series consist of six seasons and three separate sagas.... Saga One is Spyro: Dragon of Destiny. Saga Two is Spyro: Defenders of the Future and then the final saga is Spyro: Ascendant Destiny. As of now, six feature film storyline ideas are currently being developed by me. The rating of both the movie and series will be borderline PG. I don't won't to make it to violent for the younger fans but I also want to not make it to kiddish. I want both the younger and older fans to enjoy seeing Spyro in action. Also, I am working on some brand new storylines for possible future Spyro games.

Also, a spin-off series is also being worked on that features the future children of Spyro and his friends as the stars. The spin-off series is currently called Vanguardian Heroes: Team Skyler. The Vanguard, in case you are wondering, is ancient dragon clan that Spyro happens to descend from. I created this new clan because Spyro happens to be a very unique dragon. He seems to be the only dragon capable of using multiple elemental breath attacks and powers and I thought what if that is because he belongs to ancient race of warrior dragons. The Shadow Realm will appear in the series but the realm will be very different. Also, expect to see more magical creatures introduced. Currently, I am adding King Silvermane and his son Prince Lucas into the story. Both of them are gryphons and their people have much different social and family structure then the Dragon Clans.

The series will dive into the very deep and unknown complex pre-history of Avalar, The Forgotten Realms and The Dragon Realms. Spyro will finally come face to face with his mother and father. Bianca's past will be explained and so will Hunter's. Also, Red's past will get revealed and you will finally get to see what happened to him. Ripto's origin as well as where he and the sorceress came from will be explained. You'll be happy know that the portal network that was from earlier games returns and an explaination as to what happen to them during A Heroes Tale .
