Gnasty wasn't really as stupid as Insomniac made him out to be.

Earlier one of you said ETD was a big jump going to smooth pixels from the bad pixels in past games...

It wasn't bad pixels, it is a form of video-game art. You see there is like manga, cel-shaded, 3-D, 2-D, but Spyro used a very rarely used form of game art...

Gouraud-shaded

It is blurred to look like a Storybook, and was one of Spyro's trademarks!

That shading's been used in a bunch of PS1 titles. It is not a trademark of Spyro if you're improving a game series on a more powerful platform. Those graphics have been used in Tomba and Croc as well, so they are definitely NOT trademarked by Spyro.

I meant trademark as in a renowned feature, other such trademarks include him being purple and small, stewart copeland's music and the minigames. I dind't mean Trademarked, I meant a trademark, as in a well known feature.

We're not being rude, actually. We're just telling you, VU won't accept it for legal reasons. Even if Insomniac still owned it, they wouldn't either.

Even look at Insomniac's site, they say there that they cannot legally accept ideas from outside the company.

And, not to be mean at all, but your game is mostly of fancharacters. Spyro's games have enough characters already, and there's no need to kill off the older villains, because they haven't been in many games at all. Sonic's fandom has Robotnik, he's been the bad guy since Sonic 1, nearly 14 years ago. Crash's fandom has Cortex, he's been around since Crash 1, about 10 years back. The Sorceress hasn't been in any more games than YotD, Grendor hasn't even been mentioned since SoF! Why have him reappear just to have him die? Leave him out if you don't like him, VU's done a good job of that with Elora.

Anyway, I don't want to have any confrontations here. We can't all agree on anything, and we're just telling you the awful truth.

Perhaps if you went to work for Vivendi Universal, they would take your ideas. Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do, and not all the encouragement in the world will make them change their stance. I'm sorry.

i think the reason why ETD was not all that good, is because possibly they were going to sell Spyro to VU, but they wanted to make one last spyro game (in a hurry)
that's what i think...

Actually, Insomniacs was developping the game before VU took over.
How do I know?

You should have read a little closer, that says what he thought to be true, not actually true. Ted Price told two interviewers that they were already making Ratchet and Clank right after YOTD was released, he calle dit a secret project, but we know that it was Ratchet because he said they were done with the Spyro Series. (In the epilogue it says 'we hope you enjoyed the spyro trilogy, we will miss you'. They were asked by VU to do a fourth Spyro, but Ratchet was under way so they declined. He sais he was crossing his fingers the fourth would be good, since they couldnt make it. He said this:

“Spyro has become an abused stepchild. While Digital Eclipse did a great job on the GBA titles, Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly on PS2 and GameCube was an absolute travesty. When it was released, I was polite about it when people asked, having not played the game. But then I played it.”

“It seems to me at this point that consumers are going to think twice before they buy another Spyro game…. What’s worse for us at Insomniac is that a lot of people assume we made Enter the Dragonfly.”

So even though he said they could return after Ratchet, it is apparent now they won't. THEY HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH ETD, NEVER DID, AND NEVER WILL! THEY ARE GONE FROM SPYRO FOREVER IT SEEMS, UNLESS THEY DECIDE TO RETURN, BUT THEY SEEM TO DISLIKE WHERE SPYRO IS SO MUCH NOW, THAT WON'T EVER HAPPEM!

They should sell the rights to someone like Nintendo, or back to Sony, VU has no idea of how valuable Spyro really is, and still can be!

All I'm getting from that quote is that they were appalled by ETD. He doesn't mention a thing about not coming back to Spyro.

I sure hope they do take it back. Let Insomniac take it back and compensate for the horridness of ETD and the others.
