To avoid the boards from getting too cluttered up, it's common courtesy to start a new topic with the same subject every 20-25 pages.

xx RULES FOR FUNLAND MESSAGE BOARDS
« Thread started on: Oct 20th, 2005, 11:38pm »

I had to make one of these. I see several topics being flooded as it is. >_>

  • Games are allowed, as long as they stay on topic.

  • WAIT FOR MORE THAN JUST TWO/THREE PEOPLE TO POST IN A TOPIC! If there's a string of three people over a short period of time, the topic's getting deleted.

  • Close topics and start a new post after you reach twenty pages.

  • Bumping older topics that aren't locked are okay.

  • Games used to demean other users are not allowed.

  • No bashing in the Character Battles

  • Ask A Stupid Spyro Question has to be about SPYRO Questions and Answers

  • YOU ARE ONLY ALLOWED FIVE TO TEN POSTS A DAY IN THE FUNLAND MESSAGE BOARDS. If there seems to be a period of no members, at least wait until some more users show up. Twenty posts in twenty different boards is not going to cut it.

  • Anything personal has to go to the non-anon board.

  • Contests of either art or fanfiction go to the respected boards.

  • Bashing characters from the Spyro games is not allowed unless there's a humorous reason behind it.

  • Complete randomness is only funny when used sparingly. Don't overdo it. wink

  • Only Admins can post pictures on the Caption Contest boards. Fanart is allowed on the Caption Contest boards.

  • As usual, keep your intentions and language clean. We will delete less-than-clean posts and boards.

  • If you get a warning from an admin such as myself or TTE, whining to them on a board or in a PM is not good sportsmanship AT ALL.

  • Your posts should have some substance unless the topic demands for one-word posts.

Hmm... I am an occasional offender of these rules, but I'll second them anyway. It's not always so bad, but when you enter funland and the "latest post" column has the same user name all the way down, as far as the eye can see...

Yeah. Thanks TP, we needed it. wink

(Yes, I know I'm sorta breking the rules already by posting here, but surely this thread is an exception!)

Too true, Fen. I mean, have you seen StD's post count? He must have made *counts on fingers* 22 posts yesterday (I think). Even spammy old me has a record of only 12ish!

Hmm, Venom, you don't have much room to talk, I think... (Std actually said sorry when he 'spammed' a few weeks ago, unlike a certain someone...)

I think these rules will be useful. The game is not called Describe YOURSELF, but Describe the PERSON ABOVE YOU game. And I won't even speak about the Throw a random SPYRO object at the next poster thread. >_<

And you're right. In my opinion, the main problem seems to be the fact that posts often lack substance.

Okay, who's with me to put the fun back in Funland? XD

Yep.

Firstly, Post about person above should really be on ONE person, not several people (RainbowDragonfly, it is actually her who started the more than one person bit - even though she left the board ages ago) - and it really should not be repetitive answers (when I played, too many people say 'is a holy dragon' at me - I KNEW THAT)

And should the next Spyro Battle game be more narrative? rather than just HURT and HEAL? - That will make the thread more interesting! =D (Talking of which, is the old topic still alive?)

*whistles innocently*
Surely I didn't COMLETELY spam the board. But sorry anyway.

And sorry StD - you're just so... bashable!

As for the Spam thread, to impose anti-spam rules would completely undermine the thread's purpose. So, like Solid said, just no bashing or flaming of specific people, cultures, races, etc.

that's the exact point I was trying to make

trying to make anti spam rules on the spam thread is like going to the spyro fan charas board and saying "dont post fan charas here"

That's a great idea, actually. Not only will people be less quick in terms of knifing away the list, you can add your own imagination in there. grin

More, rules..don't I get enought from my parents? wink

Well, I think are reasonable..I see no problem in this, things I noticed were getting out of hand in the Funland, its a good thing one of you guys got around to posting this or funland could have gone down to running around naked knocking things over...then the whole SFA!

to bad the rules can't solve everything, this post already brought some bashing and other things, * sigh* well...I guess it comes to that seeing how young we still are.

Niice as ice. I really liked the spyro battle, then it started to get boring with HEAL and HURT, but i got interested when you made it in a story type form fen. I Agree with it smiley

I agree also with Morbid and Fen. Am I allowed to call her that or is it only for close friends? I do think adding some narrative to the battlezone could liven up the scene but judging by the thread position waaaaaay down there as of now I doubt it has been replied to in a while.

Heh. I was wondering when you would make some Rules for the Funland section.

Agreeing it would make it more interesting. Yet maybe it would make it even more active than usual, too.
